The Outsourcing Professional Institute (OPI) at Syracuse University provides education, certification testing, and research in conjunction with the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP). The purpose of OPI and IAOP is to enable business leaders to maximize their outsourcing initiatives and successfully manage their outsourcing relationships.

OPI ’s founding executive team includes seasoned outsourcing professionals, faculty, and other business leaders with real world experience in designing, implementing and managing complex global outsourcing initiatives.

Education
IAOP courses leverage the Outsourcing Professional Body of Knowledge (OPBOK), best of breed outsourcing methodologies, processes and procedures to maximize Outsourcing Return on Investment. The IAOP Master Class is an intensive 4 day class that is offered in both an instructor led and online format. IAOP offers the Master Class at various locations throughout the US and the Syracuse University OPI offers the IAOP Master Class in Syracuse, NY. Classes may also be provided at company locations throughout the world. Classes are taught by Certified Outsourcing Professionals (COPs) who are leading outsourcing management professionals. The Online IAOP Master Class also provides expert mentoring from fac?lty. Individuals who complete the course will not only earn 75 points toward their COP designation but will immediately be able to improve outsourcing outcomes at the organizations with which they work.

Certified Outsourcing Professional Certification (COP)
A rigorous training program, experience validation, and certification examination ensure that managers have the specific skills and competencies to manage outsourcing relationships according to the ten standards outlined by the IAOP governing body. The combination of experience and coursework can lead to the prestigious Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP) designation which ensures that managers have the foundation skills and knowledge to effectively manage the outsourcing process for their organizations. The IAOP Certification Exam was developed and validated at Syracuse University’s OPI and is one part of a rigorous certification process that Certified Outsourcing Professionals must attain. Research
In conjunction with IAOP, OPI gathers, conducts, and disseminates articles, papers, research, best practices and other information that increase the knowledge and understanding of the management issues and practices relating to outsourcing. IAOP’s Knowledge Center Firmbuilder.com® provides members with a wealth of knowledge concerning trends, best practices and research in the outsourcing field.

Events
